Background

The HLTAID First Aid competency standards were developed to provide a set of robust, industry-supported standards for people who provide First Aid to others.

Workshop Details

To ensure the First Aid units continue to meet current industry standards, and common practices as well as providers and client’s expectations the First Aid IRC is now reviewing 8 units of competency.

• HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
• HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
• HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
• HLTAID004 Provide an emergency First Aid response in an education and care setting
• HLTAID005 Provide First Aid in remote situations
• HLTAID006 Provide advanced First Aid
• HLTAID007 Provide advanced resuscitation
• HLTAID008 Manage first aid services and resources

The workshop will cover:

• SkillsIQ and Industry Reference Committee role in the training package development process
• Key questions for consideration around each unit
• Consultation timelines
• How to provide feedback
• How to keep up to date
